Roman Blind Fold Calculator - Cascade and Stacking Enter the values for your blind using the input fields at the top of the form. All measurements are in centimetres. Before using the calculator you need to know the total drop of the blind, how many rods you require, and whether it is going to be attached to a batten or track.
Cascade size is the amount you want to add to each half fold of the blind to create the cascading effect when the blind is raised. This is usually around 2-3cm.
Heading allowance is the amount allowed at the top of the blind for the cord mechanism. Wooden battens and eyelets need 6-8cm, a roman track may take up to 10cm.
Once you have typed in the values at the four fields labelled in bold type, other areas will be completed for you. To find the values you need to make your blind, go to the section labelled with the same number of rods that you typed in at the beginning. The sizes given are the rod gaps you need to create on your finished blind - you will need to add a seam allowance to make the rod pockets.
Please note - this calculator works out the rod spacing for your cascade roman blind. You will need to work out how much face fabric and lining is needed separately, depending on your preferred construction method. You will need to add your usual seam allowance to each rod pocket also.
